Mary Liang Buckley

Hi! I am a Salesforce Certified Administrator & Business Analyst, Front-End Developer, and Registered Nurse from Seattle, Washington. I have 10 years' of experience in the healthcare industry in the US and New Zealand. After experiencing the acute challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, I decided it was time to explore different career options that support a healthier work-life balance and offer greater flexibility.

So I took a leap of faith and pivoted to web development and IT field. I hope my career change story will inspire other motivated women and former healthcare professionals to enter the exciting world of tech and find roles where they can reach their full potential and thrive.

I discovered SheCodes in April 2022. It was a great opportunity for me to embark on my initial coding endeavors, eventually gaining proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and ReactJS. Following this coding program, I completed a software engineering internship with Concert Health, a leading behavioral health medical group in the US. I acquired hands-on experience building solutions for user-facing applications and collaborated with a cross-functional team in an Agile environment.

In April 2023, I first joined the Salesforce ecosystem as a certified Salesforce Administrator. I have been on an incredible journey with Salesforce and its Ohana. I also want to acknowledge my gratitude for the supportive network and positive learning experiences cultivated by the esteemed professional communities to which I belong: Talent Stacker, Clicked, and Salesforce Talent Alliance.

I'm passionate about optimizing Salesforce to improve operational efficiencies and solve complex business problems. I'm an enthusiastic collaborator driven to bring people together to deliver on strategic objectives. Given my professional background, I'm confident working in fast-paced, dynamic environments while managing multiple stakeholders.

Furthermore, I genuinely love being able to wear many different hats and fully embrace maintaining a growth mindset throughout my continuous professional development. In my free time I love surfing, being out in nature, playing with my dog, reading books, and traveling.
